FALL - WINTER 2009

Our special greetings to each and every one of you in this new year of 2010. We trust that all of you are seeking the Lord Jesus with all of or heart in this most needed time in our lives. We pray God’s blessings and holy presence be upon and with each of your lives.

As most of you know, during the last several months in Kenya, Africa, we were preparing to return to the U.S.A. We left Kenya in mid September to start a home in the state of Alabama. There were many things for us to do, as this was the first time in many years that we had returned to actually set up a home and household.

We began seeking to purchase a doublewide mobile home and eventually found one. However, it took many days for the home to be built and then to be put on our 2-acre plot of land. There were many times when weather conditions did not permit our home from being put on our lot. In addition it seemed as though many other homes were also being constructed by the same company which was building ours. Even now, the company has not returned to correct what they call the "blemishes".

Our home arrives

We spent our first night in our home on Dec. 1st 2009 and began to fill it with God’s blessings and needed provisions. At the same time Gary has been helping a friend with the construction of a side porch and two-car garage, or car park. The work has been temporarily stopped because of the frigid temperatures and recent snow. Some of you are experiencing much more than we are, but for Alabama, it was enough. Many roads are closed here as well as schools and businesses. This is all because of ½” to 1” of snow that fell yesterday and today. In addition, the roads were very icy here because of lack of special equipment to salt or fix the roads.

REGARDING MINISTRY

We have been seeking the Lord earnestly since our arrival for direction and even more so in the last few days. I'm sure many of you have been wondering what is next for Gary & Janet.

Gary believes that he will still minister the Word of God to those who have an ear to hear it in these last days. He believes that he will continue to minister in the local church here in the U.S. as well as in short term missions, as the Lord leads and speaks to our hearts. Gary will be ministering in teaching seminars, leadership meetings and other special meetings as the Lord leads and directs. We have already had one invitation to minister in a home church in the Huntsville area, with sister Amelia Elliot.

We believe the word and the Spirit of God are both true! We believe that God’s gift will make room for us in the U.S. just as it has done in India, Ethiopia, Kenya and other nations around the world. We are so thankful for wonderful friends and the family of God that make this possible!

Janet feels the Lord is leading her in the area of taking care of elderly people. She has a job currently ministering with another woman in the caring of an elderly man and woman. The man has Parkinson’s disease and is bedridden. The woman is in a wheel chair. Janet believes that there will be more opportunities to care for others and share the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christmas and Holiday Time

We hope each of you had a wonderful time with your family and friends at Christmas and throughout the holidays this year. Both of our daughters and their families came to visit us for a few days at Christmas time. It was really nice to seen them all and to be Mom and Dad, as well as Grandpa and Grandma again. But boy were we tired!! All in all it was a wonderful time. We were glad to see them and to catch up on so many things. We also had spent Thanksgiving with our Son Tony and his family in Fl. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed fellowship with new friends as well as family.

Other Interesting Things...

We have been attending a church of God here in our small town of Fyffe. The pastor, Mike seems to have a wonderful compassion for his people, the lost, and for those in the end time harvest. Gary has been invited to speak on the second of Feb. to the senior group. Other ladies have expressed that they would like Janet to become more involved in the meetings as well.

On another note of interest, some of you may be wondering where we stayed upon our arrival in the states. Some dear friends, Mr. & Mrs. Leis, opened up their home and let us stay with them until ours was built and put up. Thank God for His unfathomable love and divine provisions through the body of Christ.

In conclusion we want to thank each of you reading this for your many prayers, support and love. Transition is never easy, and to return back to the U.S. has been one of the most difficult steps we have ever made.

Prayer Needs

    1. First of all we would like you to pray about Gary finishing his book. The oversight of it, the printing and publishing of it will be an undertaking. We want this book to get into the hands of those who sincerely want to know about mission and the life of missionaries. It will simply be called ‘The life and calling of a Missionary.’
    2. Finances for a good truck and economical means of transportation.
    3. Pray for Janet that she will find a job or ministry that God wants her to have.
    4. Pray for additional finances to finish the car park and side porch.
    5. Pray for Spirit led ministerial opportunities and finances for them.

Your Servants in Christ,

Rev. Gary & Janet Priem
